Abstract: The rapid increase in plastic production has led scientists and researchers to seek innovative and sustainable approaches for reusing and recycling plastic waste, aiming to mitigate its adverse environmental impact. Plastic waste is finding applications in various sectors, including construction materials, fuel conversion, household goods, fabric, and clothing, offering viable alternatives. Particularly, the utilization of plastic waste in construction materials has gained significant attention. This practice serves a dual purpose: it reduces plastic waste going to landfills or becoming litter and diminishes the reliance on mined construction resources, thus mitigating the construction industry's environmental footprint. This paper provides an overview of developments in utilizing plastic waste as a component of construction materials. Its incorporation as a binder, aggregate, fine aggregate, modifier, or substitute for cement and sand in the production of bricks, tiles, concrete, and roads is comprehensively examined. The impacts of adding plastic waste on properties such as strength, water absorption, and durability are thoroughly explored. The review classifies research studies depending on whether they relate to the incorporation of plastic waste in bricks and tiles or its inclusion in concrete for road construction. The utilization of plastic waste within construction materials emerges as a pivotal locus where environmental, industrial, and social concerns coalesce, propelling us toward a future that champions resource efficiency, ecological harmony, and sustainable prosperity. This paper serves as an illuminating guidepost within this trajectory, celebrating the metamorphosis of a burgeoning idea into a tangible, transformative reality within the larger narrative of sustainable development.

Abstract: In recent years, photocatalytic oxidation (PEC) technology has been widely studied in the field of water pollution remediation as an effective way to accelerate the degradation rate of organic matter. However, the external electric field applied by commonly used PEC wastewater treatment tanks is mostly provided by external equipment, therefore the pollution reduction process is accompanied by inevitable additional energy consumption. Aimed to reduce energy consumption and carbon emission, we designed a PEC tank which gets the extra bias voltage input from a biogas solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) based on PrBaMn2O5+δ electrodes. The PrBaMn2O5+δ (PBMO) double perovskite powder has mainly tetragonal phase in both reduced and oxidized atmosphere. The polarization resistances of the PBMO electrodes with PBMO|SDC functional layers were 0.08 and 0.78 Ω•cm2 in air and simulated biogas respectively. Using simulated biogas (70% CH4 and 30% CO2) with 3% water vapor as the fuel and ambient air as the oxidant, the SOFC power density can achieve 325.5 and 234.8 mW•cm−2 at 700 and 650°C, respectively. Using MoS2/Ti as photoanode for the PEC tank, with applied bias of 0.5 V in 0.02 M Na2SO3 electrolyte, and with pH=3, the degradation rate of chlorpyrifos (CPF) in PEC tank can achieve 99.7% after 4 hours.

Abstract: The prediction of coal and gas outburst risk can effectively prevent underground coal mine accidents. Due to the overlapping, coupling and complexity of coal and gas outburst in the development process, coal and gas outburst is generally Gaussian distribution or nearly Gaussian distribution, especially when the sample data in the research area is not accurate or the information is insufficient, the traditional evaluation model and method have certain limitations. To further improve the scientific and accurate prediction of coal and gas outburst risk level, a coupling model of coal and gas outburst risk assessment is established based on Monte Carlo stochastic simulation (MCS) and triangular fuzzy number (TFN) theory. Firstly, the index weight measurement value is determined by using expert opinions and AHP method. Then, the risk level and risk importance of coal and gas outburst risk assessment index are quantitatively described by using fuzzy semantics with five-level classification standards. Finally, the confidence interval of the comprehensive risk value of the coal mines to be evaluated in the research area is established. The research results show that after 20,000 simulation experiments with the coupling model, the calculation results have converged, and the confidence interval value of the system comprehensive risk simulation value of each coal mine is 95%, which can provide relevant decision support for the prevention and control planning of coal and gas outburst.
